Dick, I was just thinking on the place you had your accident. I don't know how many times it has been but it has been considerable that I've run right by that 4 corners on my long runs out to WHS. One thing for certain, motorists sure don't give any right of way or consideration to runners. I will always miss that I didn't take that oppurtunity to run with you and Mike at least a few times, seeing how these past 14,400 days I've been running have been mostly all alone. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten, I have a special respect for fellow runners like yourself. I realize I am writing these comments as though you were alive hearing them, but in the bigger sense I believe you are, there in God's heaven whever that might be. Dave Milam
I last saw Dick in 2002, when my dad passed. He handled the estate. He said he found my North Carolina accent charming. We went back to before high school. Parties at his house were the best.
